We are seeking a detail-oriented Precision Assembly Technician to support manufacturing and assembly operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, buffing, polishing, cleaning, and packaging moderately complex mechanical products while ensuring quality and on-time delivery standards are met. The ideal candidate will possess strong hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.

Precision Assembly Technician
Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Precision Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will perform mechanical assembly, inspection, testing, buffing, polishing, chemical cleaning preparation, and packaging of manufactured components. Candidates must have excellent hand/eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to work with small mechanical parts and precision tools in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
Perform moderately complex mechanical assembly and testing operations
Utilize hand tools, power tools, inspection equipment, and measuring devices
Review jobs, components, and quantities prior to production
Buff, polish, haze, and remove discoloration from components
Prepare and organize parts for chemical cleaning processes
Apply epoxy tape, install inserts, rivets, and brackets
Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality and specification compliance
Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, route sheets, and work instructions
Complete packaging, labeling, and required production documentation
Identify non-conforming products and perform rework as needed
Maintain clean, organized, and FOD-free work areas
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience preferred
Strong hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity required
Ability to read blueprints and assembly instructions
Experience using calipers, gauges, and measurement tools
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Basic computer and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Skills
Aerospace or precision manufacturing experience
Experience with buffing, polishing, or finishing operations
Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices
Ability to inspect and verify parts to engineering specifications
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and move throughout the production floor
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Ability to use tools, machinery, and inspection equipment safely
Strong visual inspection capabilities for identifying defects and accuracy
