Summary:

The Temporary Chemical Operator I / Mixer supports manufacturing operations by safely and accurately producing chemical batches in accordance with established mix instructions and daily production schedules. This contingent role is responsible for handling raw materials, operating mixing and material-handling equipment, monitoring batch quality, and maintaining equipment cleanliness for the duration of the assignment. The ideal candidate brings prior production or mixing experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

Review daily mix schedules and confirm required raw materials are available prior to production
Follow mix instructions and accurately add raw materials manually, using pumps, or via automated mixing systems
Mix batches using variable agitation according to established procedures
Perform routine observation of product during mixing and filling processes to ensure batch quality
Identify and report out-of-specification raw materials, premixes, or mixed batches
Consult with Quality personnel regarding batch adjustments or quality-related concerns
Properly clean and flush mix tanks and associated equipment between batches
Operate fork trucks, palletizers, scales, pumps, and other material-handling equipment to transport raw materials and finished goods
Perform basic building and equipment preventative maintenance as assigned
Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations
Perform other duties as assigned during the temporary assignment

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in chemical manufacturing, production, or mixing operations preferred
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
Ability to work independently while also supporting team-based operations

Preferred Qualifications

Forklift certification or prior fork truck experience
Experience working with batch records or production documentation
Familiarity with quality control standards in a manufacturing environment
