Mechanical Engineering Technician 1 Location: On-site, Brea, CA Schedule: Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM (2nd Shift) Pay Range: $25 to $32 per hour (Final rate determined at time of offer) Interview Process: phone screening and then in-person interviews Note: Submittal rate is not guaranteed and will be determined after the interview. Position Summary We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician for an on-site role in Brea, CA. This individual will assist engineering and project teams by performing routine technical tasks, supporting lab activities, executing test protocols, and contributing to product development efforts. You will collaborate closely with your supervisor and cross-functional professionals to ensure accurate testing, documentation, and workflow support. Key Responsibilities Gather, maintain, format, and manipulate technical data, including laboratory results, material test outcomes, and engineering design updates. Produce engineering documents, reports, and drawings (including flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Prepare summaries and reports, including quantitative analyses. Support engineers by completing routine technical tasks and providing hands-on assistance. Assist in equipment scoping and qualification activities. Contribute to general lab operations, including calibration, safety procedure implementation, and routine equipment maintenance. Notify the manager or team lead when factors may impact project timelines or outcomes. Participate in developing prototype processes and test setups. Execute established test protocols and conduct product testing. Document and communicate test results clearly and accurately. Handle test samples and manage chemicals required for conditioning and testing. Required Qualifications Minimum: High school diploma 6+ years of experience in a lab environment (corporate or academic) OR technician experience in a regulated environment Experience following written procedures and working collaboratively within a team environment Preferred: Bachelor of Science in a technical field 1+ year of experience in a laboratory or R&D setting Preferred Skills & Experience Ability to understand and execute defined test procedures Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams Ability to solve routine technical problems Proficiency with personal computers and basic software applications Ability to train junior or lower-level technicians BD04123JD | |
