Pay $58-59/Hour Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: Ensure compliance with all Company, corporate and legal policies, procedures, regulations and requirements, and safeguarding of all Company assets. Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of financial and production information to Plant Management and the corporate entity. Verify and control the purchasing of fixed assets and other monthly expenditures. SUBORDINATE STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONS: 1.Number of employees supervised: 1-3 Non/Exempt positions that might report to this position: a. Accounting Assistant b. Sr. Accounting Assistant c. Accounting Supervisor b. Administrative Assistant ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and report all findings. Investigate and explain book- to-physical variances. Assemble and lead monthly inventory audits and report findings. Maintain a perpetual inventory for finished goods and reconcile this perpetual to production, shipping and returns on a daily basis. Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly. Analyze and accurately report current month?s financial results to the plants, sales and corporate management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements. Prepare monthly reports of results, monthly forecasts, annual operating plan and strategic planning. Submit all financial transactions, transmissions and reporting on a timely and accurate basis. Responsible for internal controls at the Plant for operations and finance. Assure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley. Resolve questions and internal controls with corporate financial management. Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and results are accurately reported. Develop and maintain standard costs, create and maintain bills of materials. Attend daily production meetings. Perform periodic walkthroughs of the Plant with the Director of Operations to discuss production and costing issues. Review labor reporting and cost, materials, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels. DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Bachelor?s degree in Accounting. Minimum five (5) year experience as a Plant Controller or Cost Manager in manufacturing environment, managing a staff, with emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to create and modify spreadsheets. Experience with JD Edwards and system conversation preferred. Must be detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: MBA, CMA or CPA with solid cost accounting background; experience with JD Edwards and system conversion. Multiple years experience as a Plant Controller. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general direction of the Plant Manager and Group Controller.
