JobsRUs.com is seeking an experienced Compensation Analyst to join our Client's Human Resources team in Norfolk, VA! Full-Time- Temporary Monday ? Friday 8:30-5:00 The Compensation Analyst I will assist in collecting and analyzing compensation data, job descriptions, and organizational structures. They will evaluate positions, determine salary ranges, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Essential Functions include: - Demonstrating knowledge of city compensation policies, civil service commission rules, and the City?s Compensation Plan. - Assisting with inputting and updating compensation plan changes within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). - Maintaining HRIS integrity by ensuring accurate and consistent input for position management data requests according to policy. - Assisting in the review of class specifications submitted by departments and inputting them into the required software. - Reviewing and investigating basic requests for reclassifications, conducting audits, coordinating discussions with incumbents and supervisors, and preparing reports of findings and recommendations. - Demonstrating knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). - Conducting salary surveys and providing data for internal and external benchmarking studies. - Reviewing class specifications to determine FLSA status. - Providing initial review and analysis for salary-related requests, along with subsequent recommendations. - Monitoring and responding to basic queries received in the team-shared inbox. Qualifications: - Work requires broad professional or technical knowledge, typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. - One year of experience working directly in employee compensation and classification or closely related experience. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and strong data management skills are required. - Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) is preferred.
