Job Title: Instrument Test Technician 1 Location: San Jose, CA Shift Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Pay Rate: $27 per hour Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Instrument Test Technician 1 to join our team. In this role, you will perform both assembly and system analysis on complex instruments, conduct testing, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, or software issues. You???ll be the go-to expert for determining the performance of test equipment and providing solutions to optimize functionality. Key Responsibilities: Build, integrate, and understand the assembly process for instruments in the production area. Perform functional and release testing on moderately complex instruments. Analyze test results and determine pass/fail outcomes; recommend corrective actions as needed. Optimize system performance, including precision of movement and light systems, based on pass/fail data. Identify defects and recommend design or process improvements. Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions. Train and mentor associates on mechanical and testing activities. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work environment and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Participate in Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) initiatives, such as Kaizen and Blitzes. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications: Minimum Education/Experience: Associates Degree (AA) in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or 5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or software troubleshooting. Required Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical tools (e.g., torque drivers, gauges) and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with moderately complex instruments. Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop associates. Ability to manage time effectively and work within specified production schedules. Commitment to Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles and team collaboration. Other Requirements: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, analysis, basic math). Basic PC skills and familiarity with Windows environments.
