Irvine, CA | $45-48/HR | Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Hardware Engineer (Temp) to support the design, integration, testing, and validation of electronic circuits and systems. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware development and testing, with exposure to RF systems, motor drives, or control systems preferred. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical documentation capabilities, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Design, integrate, test, and troubleshoot electronic circuits and systems Utilize laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and DMMs Develop and execute test plans, test procedures, and test reports Support automation of test procedures and development of test fixtures Assist in lab and field testing of electronic systems Participate in system verification and validation activities Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project teams Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and electronics technicians Ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and schedules Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited institution Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electronic circuits and systems design, integration, and testing Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Proficiency with MATLAB, LabVIEW, and schematic capture tools (e.g., OrCAD or equivalent) Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Desired Experience Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following: Digital Signal Processing (DSP) RF Circuit Design FPGA Design Motor drives and control systems Algorithm development (e.g., pattern recognition, object tracking) Automated test stand design using LabVIEW Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems Experience in the military or aerospace industry Master?s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or an MBA (plus) Professional and/or technical certifications Communication & Analytical Skills Ability to read and interpret technical documents, standards, and scientific journals Capability to write technical reports, procedures, and documentation Skilled in presenting technical information to engineering teams, management, and customers Strong mathematical proficiency, including advanced algebra, calculus, and statistical analysis Excellent reasoning skills to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions Computer & Tools Proficiency Proficient with Microsoft Office applications Comfortable working in an electronics laboratory environment Experience using personal computers, diagnostic tools, and test equipment Work Environment & Physical Requirements Light physical activity involving sitting, standing, and walking Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 20 pounds occasionally Ability to use hands for fine motor tasks and operate laboratory equipment Vision and hearing abilities necessary for technical work and communication Additional Requirements U.S. Citizenship required | |
