Job Description:

Position summary:

The Estimator prepares accurate, timely cost estimates and bids for projects or products by analyzing plans, specifications, labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor quotes including price reasonableness analysis by similarity. The role supports Pricing, Supply Chain, and Business Development by producing detailed work packages and analyses. The estimator will work at the direction of Pricing and Supply Chain Management.

Key responsibilities

Review drawings, specifications, and scope of work to develop detailed cost estimates.
Build and maintain cost databases and historical cost references for use in supplier price reasonableness analysis by similarity.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, pricing and procurement to refine assumptions for supplier price reasonableness analysis.
Prepare support packages and estimate justifications primarily for supplier price reasonableness analysis.
Present estimates and rationale to internal stakeholders and clients.
Maintain revision control and document assumptions, exclusions, and contingencies.
Support pre and post-award audit as needed to external clients.

Required qualifications

Education (minimum requirement): Associate degree (2-year) in Engineering or a related field;
5-7+ years? experience working in a manufacturing environment with complex aerospace parts .
Technical skills: Proficiency with MS Excel and ability to read and interpret drawings.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication; ability to prepare clear narratives and present estimates related to supplier price reasonableness analysis.
Analytical ability: Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and good judgment in assumptions and risk identification.
