Aftermarket Pump Mechanic (2nd Shift)

Shift Details:

2nd Shift: 3:20 p.m. ? 11:40 p.m. (20-minute unpaid lunch)

Training: First 90 days (or less) on 1st Shift

Primary Functions

The Aftermarket Pump Mechanic is responsible for disassembling, cleaning, evaluating, assembling, testing, and troubleshooting field-return units and components. This role ensures compliance with overhaul manuals, military technical orders, blueprints, and Parker HSD test specifications while supporting quality, engineering, and configuration control requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare for assembly/disassembly by inspecting parts for cleanliness and damage.

Complete all required traveler documentation, paperwork, and computer records for component identification and traceability.

Clean, evaluate, assemble, test, troubleshoot, certify, and finalize aftermarket components and subassemblies per repair orders and technical documentation.

Set up and operate test equipment using specifications, blueprints, and directives from engineering.

Support cost estimates by providing source data to Cost Analysts.

Collaborate with engineers and supervisors on authorized process deviations.

Build and repair wiring harnesses with solderless and solder connections.

Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematics.

Test units to applicable specifications, escalating questionable results to supervision.

Maintain neat and accurate paperwork, status boards, and communication charts.

Care for tools, gauges, and equipment while keeping work areas clean.

Instruct and mentor fellow employees as needed.

Coordinate job carryover with the next shift.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Safely work with red oil and Skydrol oils while meeting physical job requirements.

Obtain certification in multiple product families within 45 days of reaching top wage progression.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems.
