Industry: Electric Transmission & Distribution Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Civil Engineer to support critical infrastructure projects in electric transmission and distribution. The selected candidate will lead and contribute to a variety of engineering efforts including planning, analysis, structural design, field investigations, project oversight, and vendor management. This is a hybrid role with field responsibilities and strong potential for extension. Key Responsibilities: Define and develop civil scope for utility projects including design basis and planning documentation. Prepare scoping documents, budget justifications, detailed calculations, and final engineering packages. Review and oversee designs by internal teams and external consultants for quality and constructability. Develop RFPs, participate in field walks, and manage deliverables, schedule milestones, and payment tracking for third-party contracts. Provide technical solutions to operational/maintenance challenges. Work within substations, generating stations, and industrial/construction environments, ensuring safety compliance and high-voltage awareness. Contribute throughout the full project lifecycle from concept through construction support. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor?s in Civil Engineering (or other engineering discipline with Master's in Civil Engineering). EIT or PE license preferred. Experience: 8+ years in civil/structural engineering. Deep knowledge of concrete, steel, and masonry structural design. Familiarity with codes: ACI, AISC, ASCE, NYC Building Code, NESC. Experience with utility environments strongly preferred. Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Engineering design software (and interpretation of outputs). Vendor coordination, scheduling, and RFP processes. Soft Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational, decision-making, and multitasking abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication. High accountability, professionalism, and commitment to safety and excellence. Comfortable working in confined spaces, high elevations, and harsh weather conditions. | |
