Job Title: Lab Technician ? 2nd Shift (4 PM ? 12 AM) Pay: $21.88 Location: Reading, PA Employer: JobsRUs.com (Hiring for a client) Overview: Our client in Reading, PA, is seeking a meticulous and dependable Lab Technician to conduct critical quality tests on raw, intermediate, and finished dairy products, including milk powder and condensed milk. This position plays a key role in ensuring product safety and consistency, working within a sterile, highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities: ? Perform receiving lab duties: weigh incoming trucks, oversee sample collection, and prepare tickets. ? Evaluate truck shipments according to established criteria. ? Conduct tests using Near Infra-red methods, scorch tests, acidity tests, and more. ? Prepare chemical solutions, sterilize equipment, and maintain lab cleanliness. ? Execute tests for butterfat, total solids, and other milk product attributes. ? Record results with accuracy and maintain lab quality control measures. ? Certify finished products for sale, ensuring adherence to governmental and client specifications. ? Take environmental samples and conduct microbiology tests as required. ? Follow all safety, quality, and food safety protocols in line with DFA standards. Requirements: Education and Experience: ? High School Diploma or GED; Associate?s in Food Science, Dairy Science, or Microbiology preferred. ? Minimum of 1 year of lab experience, ideally in a food lab environment. Certifications: ? Pennsylvania Industry Analyst for Appendix N Testing Program (or obtain within 45 days). ? Pennsylvania Weighmaster license (or obtain within 30 days). ? Other relevant certifications may be required. Skills: ? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP. ? Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work independently and in teams. ? Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. ? Adaptable to change and able to meet deadlines. Typical Day: After arriving, you?ll change into your lab uniform (lab coat, hair net, goggles, and other PPE). Your tasks will include processing paperwork, coordinating with haulers, collecting samples, performing product tests, and taking environmental swabs. The work is methodical and crucial to maintaining product integrity. Top Skills Desired: 1. Prior lab experience, especially in food or dairy testing. 2.
