Summary: This permanent position involves assisting with US direct tax compliance and accounting activities for a large national retail client. Responsibilities include preparing tax provisions, managing tax compliance, supporting tax audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. A Bachelor?s degree is required, with a Master?s in Taxation preferred, along with 3+ years of experience and a CPA license. Strong communication, tax knowledge, and process improvement skills are essential. Benefits and weekly pay are available. PURPOSE OF FUNCTION BNOF - Finance & Legal\Tax The BNOF Finance & Legal job function develops and implements financial and legal strategies in order to assist in securing long-term profitable growth. PURPOSE OF JOB Assists in the preparation of client US direct tax compliance and tax accounting activities, including the preparation of quarterly/annual tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures, transfer pricing, and maintenance of tax function controls in order to support the development and implementation of the direct tax strategy within the country. Represents client to tax authorities, third parties, as well as internally to the business/project groups and affiliated global entities. Core Responsibilities . Assists with preparation of federal, state and local taxes in the US for a multi-billion dollar national retail business. . Assists client's US Tax Function with information and tax expertise with regard to the interpretation of tax law, new legislation, and planned change of legislation in order to identify risk and manage tax liability. . Prepares quarterly and annual income tax provisions (ASC740/FAS109). . Prepares quarterly income tax estimated returns and payments on a timely and accurate basis. . Assists in the company's compliance with property taxes, gross receipt taxes, business licenses and other miscellaneous taxes. . Supports state and local direct tax audits and controversies, including assistance with development of strategies, preparation of documentation, and negotiation of settlements. . Maintains and monitors compliance with the US tax control framework. . Supports tax projects with outside service providers including transfer pricing studies, intercompany relationships, reorganizations and restructurings, tax credit and incentives as well as other tax related projects. . Partners with cross functional groups within the company in order to understand the tax impact of the business operation and to ensure that tax needs are identified, considered and communicated. . Develops effective working relationships with finance, accounting, legal and other functions within the US and on a global basis. . Assists with the coordination of the tax compliance processes with outside service providers (if applicable) for U.S. federal, state and local tax compliance. . Provides a consistent level of support across all business channels. Other Duties . Performs other duties as assigned. . KEY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES AND PROVEN SKILLS Education Minimum Education: Education Details: Bachelor's Degree Masters Degree in Taxation Preferred Experience Minimum Years of Experience: 3 Experience Details . Continuing depth of US direct tax knowledge and experience with US direct tax controversy. . A proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership, enabling change and delivering results, in a fast paced, growth environment. . Strong communication, negotiation and accounting skills. . Strong process improvement and technology skills. . Demonstrated understanding of internal control and process improvement. . Proven capacity to work with executive leadership on corporate-wide issues. CPA preferred. COMPETENCIES Knowledge . Knowledge of tax operational principles, along with a combination of large multi-national accounting/law firm experience and large multi-state/multinational corporate experience. . Knowledge of direct tax in order to support a complex global organization with meeting deadlines, tax research and tax accounting support. . Knowledge and understanding of supporting in most aspects of a large portfolio of direct tax audits in both the Federal and State/Local Tax arena. . Knowledge of ASC 740 and quarterly/annual tax provision for a multistate US operation. . Knowledge of internal tax group operating procedures, processes and controls. .
