JobsRUs.com. is seeking to hire a Selector for our client in Hartford, CT! Benefits Available! Weekly Pay! $20.00/Hour Sunday-Thursday evenings starting at 7 PM. You'll be working in a warehouse environment with different temperatures: a Dry Dock, a Cooler Dock (around 40°F), and a Freezer (0°F to -5°F). Top 3 Skills for Success: Reliability Attention to Detail (accurately picking items) Attention to Safety Job Duties: Use an electric pallet jack to pick and move products. Follow orders and manage your tasks until completed. Deliver picked products to the loading area but no wrapping or loading. Requirements: Steel-toe shoes are a must. Preferably some experience in food selection or grocery, but not necessary. Avoid candidates with Amazon warehouse experience, as the roles are different here. Experience Needed: 0-3 years of similar work. Must be 18 or older. Able to lift up to 100 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills and English communication are required. Responsible for operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, selecting the correct products from warehouse racking, labeling product using SOS label technology, palletizing product as it is selected to build customer orders, and delivering product to the dock in a safe and efficient manner. Hand selects orders within various warehouse environments of fluctuating temperatures, including Dry, Cooler, and Freezer, operates assigned SOS unit to create labels, correctly places labels on product, stacks product on pallets in accordance with proper selecting procedures (e.g., no stacking heavy-on-light, labels facing out, etc.), stages pallets for loading on proper dock locations, stretch-wraps product on loading dock, maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including but not limited to pallet jack, SOS unit, and personal protective equipment, and performs pre and post-trip inspections of equipment. Must follow Client Safe preferred work methods at all times and follow sanitation requirements in order to comply with policy set forth by Client and by AIB (American Institute of Baking). This position requires working until all products are accurately selected and loaded including potential overtime on holidays and weekends. Essential skills include the ability to meet or exceed minimum efficiency levels established through an engineered production standard, working rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift in a fast paced environment, meeting or exceeding established cases per error goals, and developing a good working knowledge of product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures. Basic requirements include being over the age of 18, the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English as it relates to the job and safety requirements, basic arithmetic skills, and adequate physical fitness to lift up to 100 lbs regularly.
