Vendor call being scheduled for Thursday, 6/27/24, invites will be sent out shortly. client is looking to hire an Associate Scientist/Scientist Contractor at the Lexington, MA site. The Associate Scientist/Scientist Contractor will aid in running microbiome fermentation experiments and be responsible for downstream sample processing. This position is embedded within the highly collaborative and fast-paced environment of client?s Biotech R&D hub located in Lexington, MA. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Your key responsibilities: We are looking for a passionate and hands-on Associate Scientist/Scientist to help us achieve our ambitions across microbiome-related projects within client. This person will spend the majority of their time (about 80%) in the lab executing experiments. You will help execute microbiology-related fermentation experiments using different in vitro and ex vivo tools/systems to demonstrate health benefits in terms of microbiome modulation, microbial metabolite production, and host microbiome interaction for various client projects. This position will report to a Scientist co-located at Lexington, MA, USA site. Job Requirements: Bachelors + 5yr or Masters +3yr in biosciences with relevant experience Experience in microbial isolation, microbial culture maintenance, and nucleic acid extraction Bench scale lab fermentation or microbial process development experience is a plus Experience with growing anaerobic microbes / working in anaerobic chamber is a plus Experience maintaining electronic lab notebook and reporting data/results to the team Good aseptic technique Background in sample preparation for next generation DNA sequencing and interactions with sequencing providers Hands-on DNA sequencing experience preferred (Nanopore and/or Illumina) Excellent communication skills and are fluent in English, both spoken and written Ability to program/use laboratory robotics (e.g., TECAN) is a plus | |
