Description:

Job Details
The Gas and Chemical Technician helps support the Mega System of chemicals and controls throughout
the sites.
Technicians will change 150+ drums, bottles, totes, bulk tankers, and cylinders per shift. In some
cases, Technicians must put on Supplied Contained Breathing Air Respirator (this type of
respirator provides air from a cylinder through a mask connected the cylinder) while working
with chemicals (approx. 10-15 minutes).
Technicians may need climb a tanker truck (18-wheeler), while using fall protection, to load chemicals in drum.
Physical demands on the job include walking (up t5-6 miles/day), climbing ladders, lifting 25-
50 lbs., bending down, stepping up and down in close quarters. Some areas require the use of
hearing protection. Workers will wear a hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes at all
times. Disposable chemical aprons are required in some areas along with Nitrile gloves and ear
plugs. In very few areas slip-resistant booties are required but are available if needed
Dress Code and Safety Requirements
PPE must be worn anywhere required during shift and will be made available.
Respirators are required ? contractors may not have facial hair that will interfere with the use of
these masks ? fit test are performed on site once worker starts
Steel toe boots are required, a voucher will be provided upon start at the site
Work attire: jeans are fine, shorts. Shirts with collars are preferred, with nothing
inappropriate printed on them

Candidate Profile
Previous experience with chemical and gas distribution equipment is helpful but not a must
Prior experience in maintenance, as an equipment technician or in a mechanical or electronic
environment is a plus
Manufacturing, Quality or Warehouse experience preferred
Basic computer skills are required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Candidates should be interested in potentially converting tan EMD permanent employee
Must have a valid Drivers license and must speak English

On the job orientation and training provided, estimated 4 weeks training.
PPE Provided ? hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, scrubs, masks, gloves, chemical apron, etc.
Shifts: Day shift 6:00 am-6:00 pm, night shift 6:00 pm-6:00 am; 12-hour shifts working on an
alternating schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next week. Shift may change
between days and nights every three months.
Steel toe boots are required; voucher will be provided onsite

Shift Details
Manufacturing runs 24/7
Shifts: Day shift 6:00 am-6:00 pm, night shift 6:00 pm-6:00 am; 12-hour shifts working on an
alternating schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next week. Shifts change between
day and night every 3 months, which is potentially subject change based on business needs
Pay Information
Pay rate is $21.68/hour
Night shift workers earn 10% shift differential in pay (please alert Shellie Whitmore of workers
moves the night shift ensure shift pay is added timely; she will revise the Work Order
in Fieldglass).

quality notes about the candidates highlighting their best qualities. Ask the PM if you have
questions about this.

Physical which includes a Qualitative Fit Test ? once complete send all results the
Randstad Program Office for clearance start.

Respirator Fit Test will be administered during orientation
All workers start on Mondays
Ongoing Check-ins
Please check in with your contractors regularly and contact Shellie Whitmore with any concerns
and feedback raised by your employee.
If a contractor is hired for a night shift, please be sure connect with the worker you know
they have completed orientation/training and have moved nights the PM can revise the
pay rate for the night shift.
