JobsRUs.com is seeking motivated individuals for a Cutting Room Assistant in Beloit, WI $17.50/hr. starting pay rate 1st shift hours The Cutting Room Assistant assists the Cutting Person, performs fill-in duties of the Fourth Hand and Pulper Assistant; works in Wood Shop and Maintenance departments and performs Day Helper duties. Pay Rate Explanation After initial training in the Cutting department (training period depends on job proficiencies), you can potentially be exposed to different departments in the paper mill. Your hourly pay rate will reflect those hours worked depending on the job being performed. Mandatory overtime. Hours ? Saturday mornings as needed ? Paid shift differentials ? Anything over 8 hours in a workday is overtime Job Description ? Using scales to weigh paperboard properly. ? Stacking paperboard on skids properly. ? Bundling and/or boxing paperboard properly. ? Banding skids of paperboard to ready for shipment. ? Operating Guillotine cutter(s). ? Performing maintenance duties as directed by the foreperson. ? Utilizing basic maintenance tools as required. ? Operating forklift and banding tools as required. ? Operating woodshop tools and equipment as required. ? Keeping work areas in a clean and orderly fashion. ? Observing all safety and health rules while performing your duties. ? Other duties as assigned. ? Stoop, bend, and twist frequently while handling 50 - 70+ lbs. stacks or cartons of paperboard. ? Work standing long periods of time over an 8 to 10-hour work shift. ? Must possess the ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment. ? Must be able to work in a team environment. ? Ability to make and read measurements on a tape measure, scales, etc. ? Ability to understand verbal instructions. ? Perform repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere and use vision in order to identify defects with or without reasonable accommodation.
