Job Title: Engineer Department: Relay Protection, Metering and Security Engineering Location: New York, NY 10003 Estimated Contract Length: 3 years Pay Range:$65 but negotiable up to $75 if highly experienced in relay protection work. Job Description: The qualified candidate will be involved in a major project to build a new substation and will be fully responsible for relay protection associated with that new station buildout. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform detailed fault studies in CAPE and use results to perform settings calculations. Perform associated coordination studies, load ability studies, etc. as necessary. Develop setting files for protective relays including all associated documentation. Review, mark up, provide guidance to design engineering regarding project drawings. Provide oversight to protection and controls integration vendor including reviewing deliverables for accuracy. Assist in off-site and on-site acceptance testing of the system. Check installation design for regulatory compliance and present to regulators as needed. Additional tasks as necessary to develop the protection system for the new substation. The candidate must have at least 4 years of experience performing fault studies and setting protective relays at the transmission level. It is highly preferred if the candidate has IEC61850 experience as well. | |
