EXPERIENCE

Two years experience for the care and maintenance of resilient floors.

DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the floor care of all resilient flooring and carpet throughout the hospital.
Operational knowledge of all floor equipment to include vacuum's, burnishers, scrubbers, wet vans, carpet extractor, mop
Operational knowledge of floor procedures to include dust mopping, mopping, stripping, application of floor finish, burnishing.
Operational knowledge of all floor chemicals used within the hospital.
Operational knowledge of floor pads used for daily maintenance, burnishing, and stripping.

Ensures proper signage is placed at the appropriate locations when hazards (i.e. wet floor warnings) are plausible.

Responsible for proper handling of all chemicals as well as following proper infection control policies and proper PPE use.

Demonstrates a knowledge of equipment used to maintain and clean floors. Can identify mechanical issues with the equipment to be reported timely and appropriately. Responsible for the care and cleaning of all floor equipment
Responsible for cleaning and maintaining of flooring in patient and non-patient areas, offices, common areas, hallways, and common area rest rooms to a high standard.

Maintains a daily, weekly and monthly floor maintenance schedule.
Provides for the technical training of all floor techs within the EVS department.
Develops schedule for start and finish of all floor projects.
Develops an equipment inventory record and sign out/in log.

Responsible for the technical training of all floor techs in the EVS department.
Responsible for the selection of a project floor team.
Responsible to ensure all equipment is signed out/in.
Responsible to ensure that all equipment is operational and maintained in good working order.

Maintains a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
Supports the development and implementation of strategies to elevate the patient experience.

Develops the floor techs under his/her supervision through technical training.
Provides guidance and direction to floor techs

Ensures that supplies are used as recommended by the label to ensure no waste of resources.

Other

Performs other duties as assigned.
