1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 3pm-11:30pm

Job Description
Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Responsible for reviewing production, work and shipment schedules and recording inventory levels, cost, etc. Typically has a High School diploma.

The person will be counting inventory in the on-site warehouse for 3 days per week. Inventory needs to be counted with the highest accuracy without using the system to check the quantity on hand. The days the person does not count, they will be expected to maintain the storeroom in 5S Standards (ensure racks are in order and removal of debris; grouping like parts together; removing empty/broken racks; etc. The person will also be required to lift heavy boxes and may require using a ladder to reach part. They are required to drive a PIV though.

Education/Experience
o High School diploma or GED required
o Entry level - 2 years related experience required

Responsibility level
o Exercises minimal independent judgment with direction from supervisor

Skills
o Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills (Required)
o Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials (Required)
o Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information (Required)
o Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production (Required)
o Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel (Required)

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment
o Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials
o Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
o Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes
o Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials
o Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications
o Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock
o Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as handtruck, conveyor, or sorting bins
o Compute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and demurrage charges, using calculator or price list
o Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter
