Retention bonus of $1000 after 60 days and again after six months depending on attendance and performance. Description: We are currently seeking a skilled GC-LC/MS Operator/Transcriptionist to join our client's Toxicology team located in Gretna, LA. In this role, you will be responsible for operating Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) instruments for confirmatory testing, adhering to regulatory guidelines and ensuring accurate results. Responsibilities: Operate GC/MS and/or LC-MS/MS instruments for confirmatory testing. Perform initial review of data and ensure accuracy. Prepare and extract samples for GC/MS and LC-MS/MS confirmation as required. Operate lab equipment for sample extraction when necessary. Prepare validation samples for new controls, calibrators, and reagents. Document QC validation results and maintain accurate records. Adhere to security procedures to ensure the confidentiality of donor information. Comply with company policies and regulatory guidelines. Basic Qualifications | Education: A bachelor's degree in biology or chemistry is required. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced understanding of analytical techniques and procedures. Proficiency in laboratory instrumentation operation. Familiarity with certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT, and other regulatory bodies. Ability to comprehend Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other laboratory computer systems. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds. Full body movement capability. Vision and hearing corrected to meet minimum acceptable norms. Mental/Reasoning Requirements: Strong math and reasoning ability for developing and communicating laboratory procedures and reports. Ability to cope with stress related to production obligations. Proficiency in reading and comprehending SOPs, Federal (49 CFR Part 40), and CAP-FUDT guidelines. Legible handwriting for data transcription. Effective communication skills with colleagues and supervisors. Ability to provide input and recommendations on operations. Work Environment: Climate-controlled office and testing laboratory environment. Potential exposure to toxic or hazardous materials may occur. | |
