Pay Rate: $16-$18 per hour (Depending on Experience) Shift: Thursday - Sunday, 7:30 am to 4 pm (Sat and Sun hours may be reduced) Location: Nampa, ID Job Description: Join our dynamic team as an Agriculture Research Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the cultivation and maintenance of alfalfa plants. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $16-$18 per hour, depending on experience. The shift details have been updated to Thursday - Sunday, with hours from 7:30 am to 4 pm (Sat and Sun hours may be reduced). Responsibilities: 1. Watering of alfalfa plants in the greenhouse, outside, and field test plots. 2. Field plot watering. Additional Tasks: May be asked to perform the following field activities: ? Hoeing ? Gopher control ? Grinding alfalfa samples Greenhouse activities: ? Upkeep of the greenhouse and station as needed. ? Plant maintenance, including staking. ? Plant pollinations, seeding, potting. ? Threshing. Requirements: ? High School diploma or GED required; College graduates preferred. ? Able to take initiative, work as a self-starter, and follow directions. ? Organizational and time management skills. ? Team player with the ability to work with limited supervision. ? Good problem-solving skills (critical thinking). ? Strong communication skills (written and verbal). ? Ability to multitask and adapt to change. ? Familiarity with operating research equipment such as forage grinders and laterals. Working Environment: Qualified candidates must be able to: ? Work outdoors and in greenhouses. ? Lift up to 30 lbs. ? Stand or sit for extended periods. ? Perform tasks in various conditions, including dusty, dirty, wet, and/or dry environments. ? Handle repetitive work in all conditions.
