JOB SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Technician identifies potential problems, actively participates in continuous improvement projects, and reports issues to the supervisor. They are responsible for executing specific tasks and manufacturing orders while following established instructions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a bachelor?s degree in a related scientific discipline (Biology ,Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, )
A minimum of one year of experience in a laboratory (academic) and pharmaceutical/medical device/biotechnology environment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of sterile techniques.
Proficiency in in-process testing methods.
Knowledge of dilutions, buffers, and solutions manufacturing.
Familiarity with GMP, FDA, ISO, and OSHA requirements.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct material preparation following established procedures.
Inspection and Verification calibration, and equipment maintenance.
Maintain accurate logs and manufacturing records.
Perform in-process testing as requested.
Reclaim and re-test resins.
Pack, clean, and equilibrate chromatography columns as scheduled.
Manage chemical inventory and lab supplies for manufacturing.
Ensure accurate material order transactions in the SAP system.
Support setup and manufacturing activities in tissue culture, purification, and conjugation areas. Process cell supernatant to remove debris and concentrate product prior to purification. Formulate monoclonal antibody reagents using established documentation. Manufacture buffers and solutions according to established procedures.
Execute assigned manufacturing tasks and perform filling and packaging processes for pellets, purified and conjugated materials, as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work is performed indoors and may involve exposure to extreme cold temperatures, wet/humid conditions, mechanical equipment hazards, electrical hazards, burns, and atmospheric conditions (fumes and odors).
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Frequently, the work requires carrying, lifting, and pushing heavy level objects. In addition, frequently requires pulling medium level objects. Constantly, the job requires standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, handling, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing (near/far/depth perception/visual color discrimination). Occasionally, the work requires kneeling.
