Description

We are seeking a dedicated Truck Tire Shop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks including removing and installing wheels and tires, both stock and aftermarket, with a focus on truck tires. Duties will also include mounting and rotating wheels and tires, maintaining shop equipment in a clean and orderly condition, repairing and replacing tires, conducting fleet checks, handling road service calls, after-hours calls, and performing minor service repairs on our fleet of trucks and vehicles. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, provide quality customer service, and adhere to safety policies and procedures.

$18.00/hr - $30.00/hr

***Job Requirements***
- High school diploma
- ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and allocate time as required by business objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- must have some mechanical skills acquired through either experience or technical trade school.
- ability to identify and use standard and metric automotive hand bar and powered tools.
- ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- availability and willingness for local travel
- must have and maintain a good driving record
- must be able to lift 100 pounds consistently
- ability to stand for long periods of time, bending, lifting, and twisting

***Job Responsibilities***

- inspects and tests tires to ensure conformance to standards.
- examines and probes damaged, defective, or flat tires to determine the extent of damage and the feasibility of repair; and recommends the disposal of non-repairable tires.
- Repairs tube and tubeless tires by applying patches, replacing treads, removing nails, changing tubes, installing boots, etc.
- remove and install wheels and tires, both stock and aftermarket, including truck tires
- aligns wheels and tire assemblies to minimize wear on tires; and rotates wheels at prescribed mileage intervals.
- Practices safety methods in the operation of equipment and performance of duties.
- Maintain shop and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Inventories and ensures an adequate supply of tires and related parts; and requisitions/orders supplies as necessary.
- performs any other related duties as assigned.
- prepares paperwork including work orders, part usage records, tire weight records, etc.
