Seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician for our client in Tarboro, NC!

Summary
Expert in diagnosing and repairing equipment to enhance operational efficiency. Regularly tests, inspects, and implements preventive measures to avoid unexpected downtime.

Proficient in reacting to power outages and downstream issues. Applies routine work area procedures and completes standardized activities with the ability to resolve task-related problems independently. Demonstrates autonomy in duties.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to identify and correct issues.

Inspect, adjust, program, and repair machinery, mechanisms, controls, and equipment as per assigned preventive maintenance schedules.
Responsible for mechanical, hydraulic, pneum

atic, and electrical work on equipment, infrared heaters, and gas-fired burners.
Document equipment historical data for reliability analysis and planning upgrades.

Record modifications, repairs, setups, maintenance, PM, and safety procedures to ensure reliability and quality control, enhancing overall equipment operation.

Review, interpret, and apply logical decisions using schematics and drawings to determine proper equipment isolation for maintenance.

Move, relocate, and install plant machinery, manufacturing, or facilities-related equipment.
Assemble equipment and special machines based on designs and sketches.

Install and may design guards or safety equipment to eliminate identified hazards.
Assist in rebuilding plant machinery components and actively contribute to machine, process, and layout improvements.

Recommend and may be involved in minor systems modifications under the direction of management and engineering.

Ensure the working area, tools, and equipment are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner.

Recommend spare parts for inventory to enhance equipment reliability.
Operate all necessary equipment for job performance.

Perform rigging activities, safety-related functions, and other electrical tasks.
Work from catwalks, scaffolds, roofs, ladders, and use forklifts, high lifts, and similar equipment responsibly.

Follow lockout/tagout procedures and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Take instructions from senior skilled employees and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills.

Conduct general area and workstation housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Store inventory and materials neatly and labeled, consistent with 5S principles.
Support and actively participate in high-performing teams, safety activities, and departmental improvements.

Physical Requirements: Bends, stoops, crouches, reaches, and pulls Walks, cleans, and completes paperwork. Lifts and moves up to 40 pounds. Holds and lifts parts of different sizes, shapes, and weights, in order to inspect. Inspects parts using near vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

Work Environment Regularly exposed to humid conditions, airborne particles, extreme cold and heat.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Forklift license within two weeks of hire required.
Two years industrial experience preferred.
