Duties:

Purpose:

To manage the day-to-day transportation operations to deliver excellence to all BIAH customers and internal partners. Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies; manage freight and transportation contracts and service levels at the least total cost. Manage and control a budget in excess of (USD)12M. Work closely with the entire Supply Chain team to insure that objectives are supported and met.

Responsible for managing the overall transportation expense for the U.S. Formulates and manages a transportation budget in excess of (USD)12M annually.
Manages and works closely with Sourcing Logistics to monitors existing vendors as well as assist in the evaluation and implementation of new contracts to include price and service standards with domestic carriers such as Parcel, LTL, TL, and Specialized carriers.
Leads a team responsible for shipment tracings of customer orders, filing of freight claims, transportation spend, and associated cost savings or cost avoidance opportunities.
Establishes and maintains reliable 3rd party freight payment vendors for prompt bill payment and post-audit freight bill activities.
Ensures compliance and maintains all hazardous material files in accordance with applicable U.S. laws related to storage and transportation activity. Trains personnel as needed/required. Keeps hazardous material certification and trainer status current.
Develops and manage inbound freight program than enables BIAH to optimize cost-savings and carrier efficiency
Responsible for staying current and updating internal personnel and external business partners on all transportation and traffic regulation changes and pending legislation changes.
Remains knowledgeable of industry Best Practices, new trends and technologies, for application in BIAH US Logistics/Transportation network.

Skills:
US DOT, 49CFR Hazardous Material Regulations, OSHA knowledge
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to effectively negotiate and influence.
Possess in-depth knowledge of hazardous material regulations.
Small Parcel, LTL & FTL transportation experience required.
Computer proficiency required in Excel.
Excellent knowledge base and prior hands-on experience with small parcel transportation a plus.
An understanding of LTL & FTL transportation.

Education:
4-year Bachelor?s Degree in Logistics or related field, plus at least 5 years management experience.
