As a customer-centric Product Owner within a Stream Aligned Team operating in the context of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), your primary responsibility is to lead the development of embedded software solutions that aligns with the overall product vision and prioritizes the delivery of exceptional value to customers.
You will work closely with ACE Product Manager, development teams, and R&D Tech Lead to ensure a seamless integration of embedded software into the broader system architecture.
This role demands a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of Agile principles, and a passion for customer-centric product development, particularly in the context of embedded systems.

Responsibilities
Customer Advocacy in Embedded Solutions
Advocate for the customer within the Agile team, emphasizing the importance of user experience and satisfaction in the development of embedded software
Collaborate closely with Product Manager and R&D Tech Lead to guide the Agile Release Train (ART) towards delivering desirable, viable, feasible and sustainable embedded software solution.
Requirements Definition with Technical Alignment
Support the Product Manager and collaborate with the R&D Tech Lead to define, and document customer requirements, use cases, and customer specific workflows for embedded software, ensuring alignment with both customer needs and technical constraints.
Facilitate clear communication between the development team and stakeholders to bridge the gap between customer expectations and technical realities.
Contribute and communicate product vision, customer needs, and business value to Agile Teams. Translate product requirements into executable backlog for the Agile Teams.
Backlog Management with Embedded Systems Focus
Generate and manage the embedded software backlog, ensuring features and enhancements align with user goals, technical requirements, and stakeholder needs while responding to changing requirements.
Work closely with the R&D Tech Lead, System Architects to understand system architecture and technical dependencies.
Maintain the content, conceptual, and technical integrity of the backlog
Lead the authoring, definition, refinement and elaboration of backlog artifacts including features, user stories, enablers and defects, ensuring clear definition of acceptance criteria, tests, sprint, and increment outcomes
Guide teams in the design, build and test processes by applying customer-centric approach (user-voice, tests, story details, story splitting, enabler definition, BDD)
Facilitate backlog evolution by resolving questions, managing dependencies, and communicating priorities to enable continuous value flow, maintain cadence demonstrate incremental value, and maximize value delivery to customers
Ensure features, user stories, enhancements and defects are aligned with project deliverables in terms of prioritization and outcomes, and reflected in ART backlog and sequences are communicated to teams during backlog refinement (within sprints & iteration planning)
Monitor and evaluate the progress of user stories towards acceptance criteria, monitor and validate stories in compliance with built-in quality criteria, Non-Functional Requirements (NFR), and correct quality issues near-real time to assure definition of done for final acceptance.
Collaborate with Product Management, Value Management Office, Enterprise Architecture to define benefit hypotheses based on customer and market knowledge, validate (or invalidate) hypotheses through feedback collection throughout product lifecycle
Team Collaboration for Integrated Development
Act as a conduit between the Product Manager, System Tech Lead, System Architects, SMEs and development teams, fostering collaboration to deliver integrated solutions.
Regularly engage with the Tech Lead, and system architect to address technical challenges and ensure the seamless integration of embedded software into the larger system architecture.
Collaborate with system architects to craft enablers, work with stakeholders to establish appropriate capacity allocations to support architectural runway
Release Planning and Coordination for Embedded Solutions
Responsible for the development and delivery of SW product, coordinate release activities with a focus of technical integration and system-wide optimization.
Work collaboratively with the Product Manager, System Tech Lead, ACE Lead, and other Product Owners to plan releases, that maximize the impact of embedded software on the overall customer experience.
Continuous Feedback and Improvement for Embedded Systems
Gather and synthesize feedback from stakeholders, emphasizing value optimization of embedded software within the broader ACE program
Engage with Product Management and other stakeholders to analyze and understand market trends, opportunities, competitive threats and changing regulations on product strategy
Collaborate with the Tech Lead to iterate on the technical strategy based on changing market conditions and evolving customer needs.
Collaborate with Product Management and User Experience Researcher to organize and execute interviews (Alpha / beta trials) with products? end users, obtain objective insights about end-user interaction with solutions and features
Share feedback with the ART during backlog refinement, iteration planning, iteration reviews and other SAFe ceremonies to help evolve solution design, providing feedback to the team?s work from outside-in (representing customer-centric point of view).
Contribute towards continuous refinement of product vision, roadmap, strategy, and design to optimize value for customers
Balance input, feedback and insights from customers, stakeholders, teams and tools to make implementation decisions that produce the most favorable outcomes.
Risk Management with Technical Considerations
Identify and communicate risks related to embedded software development, collaborating with the Tech Lead, RTE and applicable stakeholders on proactive technical mitigation strategies
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to learn from challenges and refine processes
Monitor quality of the deliverables with respect to scope, usability and technology, detect quality issues as introduced and correct them in real-time
SAFe Framework Adherence with Technical Collaboration
Ensure adherence to SAFe principles and practices, fostering a collaborative environment that aligns technical and customer-centric goals

Collaborate effectively with other SAFe roles (Team Coaches, RTE) to execute sprints, PIs, and integrate embedded software development seamlessly into the larger Agile framework.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in an Agile environment, particularly with embedded software.
Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and its principles, or experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a technical understanding of embedded software development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including strategy, architecture, product management.
Passion for customer-centric product development within the context of embedded software.
Certification in SAFe (e.g. SAFe Prodoct Owner / Product Manager) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:
Highly proficient in developing and applying prioritization frameworks from business and user perspective
Proficiency in defining MVPs and prototypes of varying fidelity based on project requirements
Experience with applying reusable methodologies and frameworks for conducting design sprints, user validation, and related field work
Excellent leadership skills, problem resolution abilities, and good judgement, ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams
Knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes, service and product design methodologies
Expertise in designing and applying user research methodologies, artifacts and insights
Exposure and experience with Process Automation, Web plication, Microservice; JAVA, springboot, Codesys, SQL Server
Control automation systems such as PLCs, SCADA (Wonderware/Ignition etc.), communication protocols e.g. OPCUA, ethernet IP etc.
Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence
Knowledge in ISA95, GAMP5, ISA62443
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher degree in a relevant field (engineering, computer science, etc.).
Previous experience as product owner or similar role, with a focus on embedded systems.
SAFe certification or willingness to obtain certification
