Weekly Pay! $41.37/Hour Shift & Hours: Nights, weekends Schedule is 8:30p to 7a; 8 days on, 6 off rotation Shifts per week 8 Hours per shift 10 EXPERIENCE Years of Experience Two Years Plus Specialties Technologies CERTIFICATIONS CPhT - preferred DESCRIPTION Qualifications: Clean Room / sterile compounding background Certifications: Missouri Licensed Technician, prefer certified technician but not an absolute Job Summary: The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served. Responsibilities of the position include (but not limited to): Inputs data into Epic as appropriate. Completes department approved sterile compounding training as appropriate. Prepares and compounds sterile preparation including chemotherapy and hazardous medications as appropriate. Prepares orders for dispensing by a pharmacist by retrieving, counting and at times mixing medication. Accurately fills orders or prescriptions for any and all medication in a timely manner. Receives and maintains inventory of drugs and ensures their security. Delivers medication to patients or hospital staff after pharmacist verification. Properly prepares for delivery or shipping medications. Complete patient follow-up phone calls as appropriate for job role. Orders and stocks medications and supplies. Retrieves unused medications from the patient care areas and ready area within Pharmacy and credits, when appropriate. Follows hazardous waste procedures. Follows quality assurance standards and checks assigned areas for outdated medications Maintains safety and sanitization of equipment. Uses sound judgment to determine priority based on patient?s needs. Makes timely deliveries of medication to patients, customers and patient care areas. Participates in process improvement activities identifying ides to improve workplace. Collect data for medication use evaluation and process improvement projects as appropriate. Attends departmental meetings and huddles. Participates in training of new coworkers. Orientation, Training, Development and Performance Management Participates in the department orientation and training program for technicians. Completes all hospital mandatory and department specific competency and education programs in a timely fashion. Completes all pharmacy competencies for assigned work areas. Completes Epic training course. Completes department approved sterile compounding training. Professionalism Adheres to all Client -wide policies and procedures. Uses Client Signature Service communication skills and demonstrates professionalism and customer service in daily activities. Communicates appropriate information between shifts. Displays professional and courteous behavior when working with other Client co-workers. Maintains proper hygiene, personal protective equipment and proper Client dress code and appearance. | |
