The SSBI Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategic projects within the Sustainability & Social Business Innovation group of the life science business. The projects are often global in nature. This position will contribute to advancing Employee and Community Engagement through the company?s global philanthropic investments, nonprofit partnerships, and skills-based volunteer program. The Community Engagement Coordinator will support community organizations as they navigate the funding application process, particularly with administrative tasks, while building internal employee awareness and community connection through volunteer activities.

This role will play an integral component in the implementation of our community engagement activities, maintaining relationships with our nonprofit partners, and supporting the SPARK? global volunteer program. This position requires minimal travel.

Simultaneously, we harness the diverse talents and expertise of our employees, allowing them to give back to the communities in which they live and work through SPARK?, our global skills-based volunteer program. In addition, we are turning scientific inquisitiveness into action via Curiosity Labs?, Curiosity Labs? at Home, and the Curiosity Cube, our proprietary programs that bring hands-on, interactive science lessons to students around the world.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Communicate and work collaboratively with the ECE team to implement global strategic initiatives.
Support the nonprofit partnership program and administrative processes, including working closely with employee-led site teams and nonprofit organizations, as well as processing grant applications.
Review & process employee Matching Gift Program requests.
Work with ECE team to help identify potential nonprofit partnerships aligned to focus areas.
Support the global employee volunteer program and employee-led site teams to drive continuous program engagement and measurements of community impact.
Support activities related to volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition.
Assist, as needed, with civic initiatives, like the annual Global Food Drive.
Monitor systems related to philanthropic investments, nonprofit partnerships, employee volunteerism and employee programs to drive engagement and efficiency.
Report metrics and tracking procedures related to Employee and Community Engagement Programs on consistent bases.
Collaborate as needed with cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, Compliance, HR, and Communications for program execution.
Prepare internal and external communications related to promoting Employee and Community Engagement programs.
Draft and deliver compelling presentations to inform and excite internal and external stakeholders about programs and activities.
Keep a pulse on key employee and community engagement industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications:
Professional working experience in philanthropy, development, corporate responsibility, community engagement, grantmaking, nonprofit management, communications, social work, or related discipline
Experience managing online grant systems and reviewing grant applications preferred
Project management knowledge and experience
Experience working with and leading volunteers
Proven track record of successfully working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex problems and create unique solutions
Experience working with cross-functional teams
Direct experience managing, executing, and evaluating programs a plus

Bachelor's (Preferred)

Work Type:
