JobsRUs.com is seeking to hire a Lab Support Specialist for our client in Athens, GA!

Pay rate: 21.00

Duties:

Support the Laboratory Operations Manager to ensure operational excellence in the laboratories consistent with local standard operating procedures. Ensure high standards of operational support for laboratory activities across the Athens Global Innovation (GI) site. Help ensure the GI laboratories function efficiently and in full compliance with local and corporate regulations.

Provide laboratory support activities including management/restocking of all laboratory supplies/consumables, consumable inventory stockrooms and housekeeping.

Manage laboratory water sampling and and testing in compliance with internal standard operating procedures

Manage laboratory waste flow processes and laboratory supply sterilization activities.

Perform regular monthly safety inspections of GI laboratories and safety stations.


Ensure excellence in chemical management and support regular audits of the chemical inventory.


Support activities related to equipment inventory and management.


Ensure compliance with chemical management requirements (OSHA, internal standards)


15% time local travel required


Low complexity globally / low complexity locally: Requires maturity, high energy, medium IQ and EQ. Requires the ability to build collaborative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders who may have competing priorities


Regular interfaces with all staff members on site, visitors, and key business partners including EHS, Site Services and Security.

Professional knowledge of laboratory operational systems,inventory and planning skills. Some experience in various lab environments is prefered.

The position is critical to the smooth and efficient operation of the Athens GI site of 80 laboratorians and managers.

Education:
Minimum Education/Degree Requirements*
Associates Degree preferred. High School or two-year technical degree in a related science field with a minimum of two years experience in a laboratory or production area.
