We are currently hiring for Shop/Road Mechanics in Albany, NY. $24-29/hour DOE Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm The Shop/Road Mechanics will be flexible to work inside shop or travel from customer to customer to diagnose and perform repairs and planned maintenance work on material handling and/or compact construction equipment and related equipment ensuring service meets all customer, quality, and industry standards and requirements. As a Technician, you will travel to customer locations to install and perform high quality service repairs on all loading dock equipment such as dock levelers, vehicle restraints, dock shelters, dock seals, dock bumpers, commercial doors, rolling steel doors, speed roll doors, trash compactors, cardboard balers, etc. ensuring service meets the customer, business, and quality standards and requirements Requirements: - High School Diploma or equivalent - 2-4 years of Technician training or experience in mechanical repair - Read and understand schematics - Must have tools - Knowledge of maintenance and repair work - Comfortable learning and attending training classes as needed Skills and Knowledge: - Knowledge to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and repairs. Safely operate power tools, lift, hoist, hydraulics, material handling equipment, etc. Have the knowledge to ensure all maintenance and repair equipment is working accurately efficiently, and safely to prevent injury to yourself and others - Be able to understand service and training manuals which can include schematics and electrical diagnostic instruments - Operate computers, iphones, ipads, and/or tablets - Have or obtain a forklift certification - Strong analytical and problem solving skills. - Excellent organizational skills and ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare routine paperwork. - Must be able to communicate professionally verbally and in writing. - Must be able to read a map; understand and follow directions, safety rules, and standard operating procedures. | |
