Our client is looking to hire a Project Controls Cost Analyst in Sulphur, LA!

Responsibilities of Position: Indicate the core functions of the job
Engage with Project Managers to ensure requisitions are clearly defined and contain all necessary documentation
Develop project progress tracking reports including productivity reports and Earned Value metrics
Assist Project Controls Team Leader and Capital Planning groups with annual AOP process, managing systems & tools supporting group tasks.
Assist in addressing Change Management aspects of Grace Capital Management best practices.
Assist in the creation and coding of requisitions to Contractors
Supports the monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) process by requesting and documenting Contractor returned progress.
Supports the Project Controls team with work process development and improvements
Perform monthly Goods Receipts (GRs) for Capital Project purchase orders
Support capital project closure process once a project is substantially complete
Timely closure of purchase orders in SAP / Ariba
Position Scope: Indicate scope of supervisory and financial responsibility

Support the Change Management work process.
Support the use of "Value of Work Done" methodology and process
Act as primary focal point between Grace and Contractor procurement
Be an active participant in work process development and improvement
Skills and Abilities Required/Sought:
Ability to work unsupervised
Ability to challenge effectively and professionally
Ability to multi-task
Ability to communicate effectively in different group settings.
Prior experience in a capital cost analyst role supporting capital projects
Demonstrated ability in prioritizing daily activities along with strong analytical skills and data analysis.
Basic understanding of accounting principals
Proficient using MS Office and SAP or another data management, accounting, or project management system.
Ability to consolidate data into key metrics and communicate them effectively.
Basic knowledge of Cost Budgeting and Forecasting Methodologies
Basic knowledge of Earned Value Methodologies
Experience/Education/Certifications Required/Sought:
High school degree or Equivalent and 3+ years of relevant experience supporting capital projects as a cost analyst in a chemical/refining environment
Working knowledge of SAP
Working knowledge of Ariba
MS Office Suite
