Our client is hiring a Laboratory Technician for their Physicals Lab in Curtis Bay! This is a contract position with the potential to be temp-to-perm for the right fit. Our client offers competitive pay starting at $21/hr or better depending on experience! Job Description: - Assists engineers and scientists with a variety of laboratory tasks: Performs chemical analyses and scientific tests using both routine and techniques in compliance with all safety standards. Collects, analyzes and processes laboratory samples. Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines. Active participation in required local safety program, along with the ability to work safely and maintain a clean and orderly lab environment. Operates, maintains and makes basic repairs laboratory test equipment, apparatus, systems and supplies. Provides technical product support to customers. Provides a basic level of product knowledge, assists in trouble shooting, basic start up, and proper application. Responsible and held accountable for compliance with all Critical Life Safety Policies, Environmental, Health and Safety training, policies and procedures. Required Skills: - The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills with knowledge in basic chemistry, math, and computers. Holds safety as a top priority while working in a team setting. Familiarity with computer programs such as MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Self- direction and the ability to work according to priorities are necessary. Strong written and oral communications skills along with computer experience are important. Has basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process. Required Experience: - Will typically have at least 0-2 years related technical experience if BS in related field. Based on business needs: Shifts rotate on a monthly basis between the following shift times: 7-3, 3-11, 11-7 The schedule is out well in advance (6-12 months in advance) | |
