The Peninsula Airport Commission is looking for a reliable Finance Manager that will analyze everyday financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans. The Finance Manager will perform complex professional work planning, organizing and directing of the financial activities of Newport News/Williamsburg Airport performing accounting budgeting and payroll functions, preparing and maintaining detailed financial records and files, preparing financial reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work involves setting policies and goals under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer. Departmental supervision is exercised over finance personnel. Responsibilities: ? Prepare financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports. ? Oversee and manage all financial aspects of the annual budget and capital improvement plan, to include EURP, and Passenger Facility CHarge (PFC) program. ? Monitor fiscal activities and ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local requirements. ? Prepare journal entries including standard and closing; monitor general ledger activities for proper allocations of revenues, expenses and cash. ? Analyze cash flow, cost controls, expenses and financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas. ? Ensure that funds are available when needed by initiating and implementing financial plans to meet present, short and long term needs. ? Manage issuance of airport bonds, including relations with airport financial consultants, financial advisors, underwriters and bond counsel. Qualifications: ? Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. ? Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and accounting management within the aviation industry and/or governmental accounting. ? Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ? Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. ? Strong proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel. ? Experience working in the aviation industry is a plus. ? Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Benefits: ?
