Job Title: Warehouse Operator 1 Location: Canaan, CT Salary: $22.00 per hour Shift: 12-hour Night Crew - D shift (7pm to 7am) Job Description: We are currently seeking a Warehouse Operator 1 for our client in Canaan, CT. This position involves using a variety of equipment, including forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to handle materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products within a plant, office, or warehouse. Responsibilities may also include record-keeping and performing routine tasks following established procedures. The role requires basic knowledge and skills, and it operates within defined standard operating procedures (SOPs) or scientific methods while adhering to quality guidelines. The Warehouse Operator 1 works with general to limited supervision. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Zero to one year of warehouse or related experience and/or training Obtaining and maintaining any necessary licenses, training, or certifications Basic skills training in an analytical/scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling, logistics, manufacturing production) Effective communication skills, suitable for co-workers and team leads/supervisors Ability to read, write, interpret English documents and perform basic math calculations Proficiency in working within a metrics-driven environment General computer skills Physical Demands: The job requires regular physical activities, including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, crouching, and reaching. It may also involve tasks like balancing, climbing, pulling, pushing, and grasping. Effective communication, along with the ability to perform tasks like typing or handling materials, is essential. The role may require lifting and/or moving objects weighing over 50 lbs. The work environment may vary in temperature, being hot in summer months (without AC) and cold in winter months (with limited heating).
