Job Summary: As a Mechanic Operator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing processes for the Filling & Packaging, TruCOUNT, and FACSCount areas in accordance with established procedures. You will work independently, applying judgment to resolve issues on semi-automated equipment. Your responsibilities include reading, comprehending, and completing all necessary documentation, such as batch records, standard operating procedures, and material requests. This position requires basic computer and math skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse, and team-oriented environment. Shift: Third shift Location: Cayey, Puerto Rico Duties and Responsibilities: Execute FACSCount and TruCount manufacturing processes, including equipment operation and setup, automatic filling/tabbing, and various packaging tasks (labeling, bagging, pouching, and kitting). Operate and perform preventive maintenance on production equipment in the Filling & Packaging, TruCOUNT, and FACSCount areas. Utilize tools for equipment checks and troubleshooting. Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in assembly and packaging equipment. Generate labels using label printing equipment. Support the packaging process for bagging, kits, and bundles. Conduct visual inspections for critical attributes and defects. Report any improper equipment usage to your supervisor. Maintain logs and required documentation. Adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP), safety regulations, ISO requirements, and company policies. Assist in revising or generating SOPs or work instructions as needed. Meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental production objectives with high quality and efficiency. Organize your schedule to meet departmental goals. Follow instructions for routine and new tasks. Requisition and replenish departmental packaging supplies. Enter packaging data into the SAP system and/or other relevant databases. Comply with all department guidelines and procedures. Stay informed about compliance requirements in your area of work. Promote a safe work environment and report hazards or unsafe practices. Actively participate in the Daily Management System, including attending and leading shift start-up meetings. Provide recommendations for systems that enhance product/process quality, reduce costs, and increase production capability. Perform other related duties and assignments as required. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills: Experience with packaging and/or assembly machinery, including maintenance and repair. Strong organizational skills and task prioritization ability. Self-motivated with the capability to work with minimal supervision. Knowledge of mechanical equipment like label printers and filling/tabbing machinery. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Quick learner with new tasks and methods. Basic computer application skills, including email and office software. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in math calculations and measurement conversions. Familiarity with GMP, QSR, or ISO requirements is desirable. Excellent attendance and punctuality. Willingness to travel to the US mainland and offshore. Education and Experience: Associate Degree in electricity, electronics, industrial mechanics, automation technology, or a related field (preferably). Minimum of three years of experience in a packaging environment and/or assembly machinery/PLC troubleshooting. Equivalent combination of related education and experience in filling/bottling/assembling/packaging environments. Supervision: N/A Mental Demand: Apply rational problem-solving skills to handle various variables and manage stressful situations. Physical Demand: Frequently handle and lift heavy objects. Additionally, involve handling, talking, hearing, and vision (near and far vision). Occasionally, push, pull, balance, stoop, kneel, and reach. Constantly require standing, walking, fingering, and vision (depth perception/visual color discrimination) and lifting high-level objects. Working Environment: Work primarily indoors with exposure to cold temperatures. Noise, vibration, hazard exposures (mechanical equipment and electrical), and atmospheric conditions like dust are present in the work environment. BD04123JD | |
