Job Description

As a mechanical engineer within Bioprocess R&D group, you will be involved in the design of automation equipment used to manufacture Mobius® Single Use Products.

Key Skills & Expectations:
Experience working with motions systems, motors, sensors, pneumatics, and bearings assemblies
Experience designing sheet metal enclosures, frames, brackets, and other supporting components
Experience with applying application specific mechanical design principles and FEA evaluations
Experience with hand assembling prototype machines, sub-assemblies, or tool end-effectors
Experience working with outside suppliers, service providers and contract manufacturing sites
Knowledgeable in automation technologies, industry standards and future trends
Ability to write reports, presentations, and summarizing progress (MS word, Excel, and Power Point)
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and confidence in work performed
Demonstrate ability to work semi-independently, with minimal to moderate supervision.
Strong sense of responsibility, urgency, enthusiasm, and high energy
Will need a high level of creativity with working though new, complex problems
Must have the ability to work across function departments (Marketing, Quality, Applications)
Must have strong CAD skills, 3D modeling and drawings (SolidWorks preferred)
Must be able to lift to 30 lbs.

Who You Are:
Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Design discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or Product Design).
3-5 years? work experience in machine design or supporting mechanical sub-assemblies
Additional skills of value for the position:
Experience in fabrication techniques using handheld cutting tools, manual lathes, and mills.
Part design for 3D printing and/or operation of 3D printers.
Machine assembly (mechanical, electrical, pneumatics)
Experience in bioprocessing/biotech/pharma/medical device is a plus
Experience with AutoCAD also a plus
