Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer
As part of an R&D project team, the Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer owns the design of a complete module, circuit board, or sub-assembly, from conception to design and verification. He / She work at a lead position and ensure that the project progresses in the defined manner. With his/her expert knowledge, also provides guidance to other engineers on their technical issues, engages in design reviews and helps to resolve the most complex problems.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
BSEE Degree
15+ years of engineering experience, or comparable experience
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficient problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and applicable Engineering Software
Experience in the medical device industry and FDA Regulations is preferred
Experience with project management is preferred
10+ years leading electrical designs in cross functional teams consisting of discipline specific engineers, or comparable experience
Preferred Experience:
Experience designing circuit boards with ARM processors, Bluetooth modules, DC/DC power supplies, Audio circuits, and isolation circuits.
Design of multiple circuit boards with embedded processors (ARM is preferred) that were produced in medium to high volume (5,000 to 1,000,000 boards per year) with at least one of the designs running a RTOS or Linux.
Experience working with schematics (DxDesigner), layouts (Mentor Graphics Xpedition), design analysis (Mentor Graphics HyperLynx)
Experience with digital design and basic software development for testing hardware designs.
Experience with documenting designs and analysis per FDA certification process including hardware requirements, hardware detailed design, DFMEA, Risk Analysis, and testing requirements.
Experience designing communication interfaces between circuit boards including, CAN, USB, SPI, I2C, LVDS, and display boards.
Experience interfacing both analog and digital sensors to embedded processors including air pressure, temperature, load cells, current measurement, and others.
Experience designing DC to DC switching power supplies.
Experience with designing for radiated emissions, ESD, cost, reliability, 10 years of production with limited obsolesce, and DFM
