Weekly Pay! $24.00/Hour Production Machinist Job Designation The Production Machinist performs semi-repetitive specialized manual/conventional machine operations under limited supervision. Provides technical assistance to production staff and requirements while following all company safety policies and procedures. Job Core Responsibilities Works to specifications, from controlled engineering drawings, written work instructions, diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and manuals with little or no supervision Reviews, analyzes, and sets up complex production machining, fixtures, and jigs and conducts pre-production or prototype machining trials, analyses, and adjusts the setup. Selects appropriate machines and cutting tools, positions, indexes, and load material for each specific job Determines and plans the size of daily production batches based on demands, sets speeds, feeds, and cooling of machining tools and equipment Performs processes in accordance with requirements, company policies, and safety procedures Plans the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job to specifications Diagnoses problems, tolerance stack-up issues, and cutter compensations, determine the extent of machining quality and repairs necessary, and re-fits or replaces worn or defective components to meet specifications and output. Verifies hourly and daily output to ensure demand consistency and potential out of tolerance conditions and monitors defects and trends to minimize scrap. Keeps records and communicates trends of approved and defective units or final product output Maintains repairs, cleans, rebuilds, and operates various machining equipment, including conventional lathes, milling machines, drill presses, etc. Makes ordinary replacements of new parts and/or complete new assemblies or fixtures and selects appropriate materials, plans, and performs machining operations on new, replacement, or rework / refurbished metallic parts Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary. Reviews samples, prototypes, engineering drawings, or instructions for conformance to requirements Other responsibilities as assigned Job Specifications Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations is preferred. Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in a related field Year of experience: Min 3+ years of relevant experience in similar environments and equipment Skills: Experience in semi-repetitive specialized machining operations Strong expertise in machining tools application and trials evaluation to improve Ability to operate three (3) Axis manual mills and lathes Ability to use precision calibrated measurement devices (e.g., calipers, height gauges, etc.), basic hand tools, and associated fixtures and jigs Able to follow and improve instructions, sketches, blueprints, engineering drawings, and manuals Capable of problem-solving: Exercises judgment based on previous experience, practices, and precedents to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedent Competent math skills with analytical abilities Physical stamina and strength to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds Effective oral and written communication This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
