Position Overview This position works in a non-climate-controlled pipe fabrication facility and is responsible for preparing, cutting, threading, beveling, assembling, and organizing pipe for customer orders. The role requires hands-on experience with machinery, strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to accurately read a tape measure, and a strong commitment to safety. Training is provided on specific pipe fabrication equipment, so candidates with related mechanical or machinery experience may be considered. Key Responsibilities Move and organize loose or bundled pipe throughout the shop and yard. Assemble pipe orders, including individual pieces and bundled orders. Set up and operate machinery used for pipe fabrication. Measure, record, and calculate pipe lengths accurately. Cut pipe using band saws, torches, or other cutting equipment. Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines. Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA and company safety requirements. Perform quality checks using tape measures and gauges. Inspect and maintain forklift and other equipment. Maintain an organized and safe work area. Follow safety procedures for cutting, fabricating, stacking, assembling, and shipping pipe. Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Must-Have Qualifications 6?8 months of recent hands-on machinery experience 6?8 months of mechanical experience Experience operating machinery such as: Band saws Pipe threaders Automatic welding machines Roll groove machines Plasma cutters Pneumatic banders Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure Ability to use gauges for quality inspections Strong basic math skills Ability to work with and sort pipe ranging from ½" to 10" Good mechanical aptitude Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a team environment Fire sprinkler pipe fabrication experience is preferred but not required. | |
