Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Braider Operator to set up and operate industrial braiding equipment used in hose manufacturing. The operator will pull and inspect tooling and materials, set up braiders according to manufacturing specifications, monitor product quality, take measurements, and document production information. Key Responsibilities: Operate NEB, OMA, and/or TMW 24/36 braiding machines. Pull tooling and materials according to manufacturing specifications. Inspect tooling before use and document materials in WW3 and Braider Logs. Set up braiding equipment, including braid ring height, tube guides, gears, carriers, and bobbins. Load and unload machine carriers and bobbins. Identify defects and mark products/preforms using the appropriate tape color. Measure and record outside diameter (OD) and pitch on Hose Process Charts/SPC. Run braided hose through the wash tank and stage finished material for inspection. Monitor equipment sounds and operation to identify potential issues. Report production, quality, or equipment issues to the Direct Lead. Work closely with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues. Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S practices. Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Production experience preferred but not required. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Basic knowledge of hand tools. Basic computer skills. Good math, reading, and writing skills. Ability to read work orders and interpret manufacturing specifications. Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and Pi Tape. Strong attention to detail and product quality. Ability to maintain continuous visual, mental, and auditory attention. Good communication and teamwork skills. Must pass pre-employment screening. Physical/Work Environment: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. Manufacturing environment with high noise levels and moving machinery. Steel-toe shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection required. High degree of manual dexterity required.
