Position Overview We are seeking an experienced MIG Production Welder to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position focuses on fabrication welding of metal equipment and structures, primarily working with galvanized sheet metal ranging from 20-gauge to 12-gauge (approximately 0.04"?0.10" thick). The ideal candidate will have strong MIG welding experience, the ability to work with thin-gauge materials, and a commitment to producing consistent, high-quality welds. Key Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on galvanized sheet metal and metal structures. Weld materials ranging from 20-gauge to 12-gauge thickness. Produce consistent weld bead profiles with proper penetration and minimal spatter. Read and follow job specifications, drawings, welding instructions, and routers. Set and adjust welding equipment based on job requirements. Measure workpieces to verify dimensional accuracy. Identify and correct common weld defects when necessary. Operate welding machinery and other production equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all established safety and quality procedures. Work effectively as part of a production team. Perform additional production duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Strong MIG welding experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Experience welding thin-gauge metal, preferably galvanized sheet metal. Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, welding specifications, and work instructions. Ability to use basic measuring tools such as rulers and tape measures. Basic mathematical skills, including working with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications Welding trade school or vocational welding program. Experience identifying and correcting common weld defects. Previous fabrication welding experience. Physical & Work Environment Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly use hands to handle tools and equipment. Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. regularly, 75 lbs. frequently, and occasionally more than 75 lbs. Work environment may include moving mechanical equipment and loud noise. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times. PPE Requirements Candidates must bring the following to the weld test/interview: Welding helmet Welding sleeves Steel-toed shoes Selection Process: Candidates will be required to successfully complete a MIG weld test during the interview to demonstrate welding proficiency and ability to work with thin-gauge materials. | |
