File Clerk ? Transmission Operations Location: Astoria, NY Pay: $28.00/hour Schedule: Monday?Friday, 8:00 AM?5:00 PM Position Summary JobsRUs.com is seeking a File Clerk to provide administrative and clerical support to the Transmission Operations organization. This position will support a department-wide document management and records retention initiative involving a high volume of physical and electronic records. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with repetitive tasks, and able to manage large volumes of documents while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Key Responsibilities Inventory and catalog physical records, files, and storage boxes. Review, organize, and prepare documents for scanning and storage. Operate scanning equipment to digitize documents. Upload and maintain electronic files using SharePoint and internal systems. Box, label, and track files designated for offsite storage. Maintain accurate document inventories, tracking logs, spreadsheets, and databases. Ensure files are properly classified, labeled, and maintained according to record-retention requirements. Retrieve physical and electronic records as requested. Prepare forms and documentation for file storage, retrieval, and vendor coordination. Provide general administrative support to Transmission Operations. Perform data entry and basic reporting. Communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors regarding document status, tracking, and requirements. Assist with audit and records-retention requests. Interpret basic information from maps, drawings, and operational documents. Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and other company systems. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience using SharePoint. Strong data-entry and document-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage a high volume of documents accurately. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to follow established procedures and processes. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Basic mathematical skills. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly. Excellent manual dexterity and typing ability. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, move, and carry boxes weighing up to approximately 25 lbs. Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday. Ability to operate scanning equipment and computer systems for extended periods. Preferred Skills Strong relationship-building and customer-service skills.
