Position Overview We are seeking a Silicone Extrusion Operator to operate and monitor silicone extrusion equipment while ensuring products meet quality and manufacturing specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Review production schedules and plan daily job duties accordingly. Mill silicone according to specifications and prepare hoses for extrusion. Set up and operate extruders for vertical, horizontal, and manual wrap applications. Monitor equipment and product quality throughout the extrusion process. Measure hose dimensions, including outside diameter and wall thickness, to ensure specifications are met. Cut and submit test samples to the laboratory for quality control. Record production and quality data to ensure product traceability and compliance. Provide reeled products to the Hose Coiling team for inspection. Identify and report production or equipment issues to the Direct Lead. Work closely with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment issues. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices. Follow all safety, quality, and environmental regulations. Operate equipment efficiently to minimize product waste. Participate in team-based improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills. Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations. Strong attention to detail and product quality. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Preferred: At least 1 year of manufacturing experience. Basic knowledge and use of hand tools. Mechanical aptitude. Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills. Experience working with manufacturing equipment or extrusion machinery. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Lift and carry materials up to 30 lbs. Bend, twist, turn, squat, kneel, reach, push, and pull regularly. Occasionally lift materials above shoulder level. Maintain a high level of visual, mental, and auditory attention. Perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity. Work Environment Manufacturing/industrial environment. High noise levels from machinery and equipment. Exposure to moving machinery and reels. Steel-toe shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection are required. Flexible hours and the ability to work mandatory overtime and short-notice overtime are required. Employees must follow all applicable safety and environmental procedures. | |
