Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Buyer / Procurement Specialist for a temporary assignment. This role is responsible for obtaining the best quality, service, pricing, and value for products and services through effective purchasing, supplier management, bidding, and negotiation. The ideal candidate will have 2?4 years of purchasing or procurement experience within the aerospace industry and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Identify manufacturing and purchasing needs. Research, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers. Obtain competitive bids and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. Initiate and manage purchase orders. Coordinate the timely delivery of parts, equipment, services, and materials. Monitor supplier performance, quality, service, and value. Research purchasing data and provide recommendations to resolve issues. Analyze costs, discounts, percentages, and other financial information. Review and interpret financial and purchasing reports. Ensure purchasing activities comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Utilize ERP/MRP systems, EDI, and standard business software. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing function. Communicate effectively with suppliers, internal teams, customers, and other business partners. Prioritize assignments and work independently with general direction. Address supplier concerns and resolve purchasing-related issues. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Required Qualifications 2?4 years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience. Aerospace industry experience is required. Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of purchasing and negotiation principles. Understanding of supplier management and procurement processes. General knowledge of procurement-related legal and regulatory requirements. Experience using ERP/MRP systems and standard business applications. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to negotiate effectively for competitive pricing and favorable terms. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Preferred Qualifications Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification. Aerospace manufacturing or supply-chain experience. Experience with ERP/MRP purchasing systems and EDI. Knowledge of continuous improvement/Lean manufacturing practices. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an Aerospace Buyer or Procurement Specialist who understands manufacturing purchasing, supplier relationships, negotiations, and delivery requirements. Candidates should be comfortable analyzing data, resolving supplier issues, and making purchasing decisions with minimal supervision. | |
