Position Overview
We are seeking highly skilled and experienced CNC Machinists to join the Commercial Flight Controls Division in Ogden, UT. These are direct-hire opportunities for machinists with strong hands-on machining experience and the ability to independently perform complex setups, operate multiple machines, troubleshoot machining processes, and produce precision components to exact specifications.

We are especially interested in experienced machinists with backgrounds in:
CNC machining and complex machine setups
Swiss-type lathes
CNC and/or manual milling
Grinding
Manual machining
Precision machining
Aerospace or other high-technology manufacturing
Tight-tolerance production environments

Candidates should be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and interpreting complex blueprints, engineering specifications, and technical documentation.

Relocation Assistance

Relocation assistance of up to $7,500 is available for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities
Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of CNC, conventional, and specialized machining equipment.
Perform complex and diversified machining operations involving tight tolerances, unusual contours, dimensional relationships, and finish requirements.
Operate multiple machines efficiently, including simultaneous operations when required.
Develop and modify tooling and workholding methods to achieve required machining results.
Read and interpret blueprints, complex drawings, engineering specifications, planning documents, charts, sketches, and verbal instructions.
Make complex setups using custom and standard workholding devices.
Troubleshoot machining and process issues and implement effective solutions.
Work with engineering to resolve drawing issues, improve processes, and recommend design or manufacturing changes.
Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, comparators, surface plates, and potentially CMM equipment.
Perform SPC activities and maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
Apply advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry when required.
Maintain machining equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability.
Support Lean manufacturing initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
Assist with workload coordination and production priorities based on business needs.
Train and mentor less-experienced team members.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of directly related machining experience in a high-technology manufacturing environment.
Strong CNC machining and setup experience.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience working with precision components and tight tolerances.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, engineering specifications, and work instructions.
Demonstrated ability to perform and evaluate precision machine setups.
Strong understanding of advanced shop mathematics; trigonometry may be required.
Ability to troubleshoot machining and process issues.
Experience using precision inspection and measurement equipment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Ability and willingness to mentor and train less-experienced machinists.
Ability to participate in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Specialized certifications may be required depending on the division or equipment.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements

The position requires the ability to:
Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
Use hands and manual dexterity to operate machinery and precision tools.
Perform close visual inspection of machined components.
Work safely around industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
Lift up to 50 pounds when required.
Maintain regular attendance and work cooperatively and professionally with team members.
