Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Materials Handler to support the efficient flow of materials and products throughout the facility. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, handling, distributing, and preparing materials for shipment while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with established procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, the ability to read and follow written work instructions, excellent communication skills, and the flexibility to work daily and weekend overtime as needed. Key Responsibilities Receive, inspect, stock, and distribute parts, materials, supplies, and equipment. Load and unload trucks using appropriate material-handling equipment. Unpack and verify incoming goods against purchase orders, invoices, and established requirements. Identify and report damaged, incorrect, or unsatisfactory materials. Maintain accurate records of received, stored, and shipped materials. Examine inventory and distribute materials to manufacturing lines and other team members as required. Prepare materials and products for final shipment. Maintain shipping documentation, including weights and shipping charges. Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy. Operate powered industrial trucks, material-handling equipment, and small hand tools as required. Enter and maintain material information using computer systems, MRP/ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Follow written and verbal work instructions with minimal supervision. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Work additional hours, nights, weekends, or variable schedules as required by business needs. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years of relevant materials handling, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing experience. Basic to intermediate computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email. Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems or database management tools. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal work instructions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to perform basic math and accurately document information. Knowledge of cycle-counting procedures. Ability to work effectively in a structured, supervised environment with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability and willingness to work daily and weekend overtime as needed. Preferred Qualifications- Forklift or powered industrial truck experience. Previous ERP/MRP system experience. Vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in materials handling or a related field. Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or receiving environment. | |
