Pay Rate - $17.93/hr 1st Shift: 7am-3:30pm Job Description Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the hospital. This position helps support patients, visitors, physicians, and staff by providing high-quality cleaning and environmental services while following hospital safety and infection-control procedures. Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize patient rooms, offices, common areas, restrooms, and other hospital spaces. Dust and sanitize furniture, equipment, fixtures, mirrors, and other surfaces. Clean windows, walls, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures. Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, and refinish floors as needed. Vacuum, spot-clean, and shampoo carpets. Change cubicle curtains and drapes when needed. Restock restroom supplies, including paper products. Collect, empty, sanitize, and properly dispose of waste. Transport solid waste to compactors and properly handle recyclable materials and cardboard. Clean and maintain smoking-area receptacles. Operate cleaning equipment safely and according to manufacturer instructions. Clean and maintain equipment after each use and report equipment problems or repair needs. Inspect equipment and work areas to help ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Document completed cleaning activities and communicate unfinished work or areas requiring additional attention. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other shifts to ensure continuity of service. Use cleaning supplies and chemicals properly, including correct mixing and dilution. Follow all hospital, department, OSHA, safety, and infection-control policies. Attend required training and stay current on cleaning procedures, equipment, chemicals, and safety requirements. Provide courteous, respectful, and professional service to patients, visitors, physicians, staff, and vendors. What We're Looking For Required: Ability to read and write at approximately an 8th-grade level. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals and equipment. Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail. Professional and courteous communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year of healthcare housekeeping or environmental services experience.
