Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM


Position Summary
The Inventory Control I position is a Finance role responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counting and inventory verification processes. This position compiles and maintains records related to the quantity, type, and value of materials, merchandise, equipment, and supplies within the facility. The Inventory Control I Associate investigates inventory discrepancies, performs quality checks, and supports product recall activities when necessary.

This role requires a highly detail-oriented individual who can work in multiple warehouse environments, including dry storage, cooler areas, freezer environments, and sub-zero ice cream storage areas. Successful candidates must be flexible, reliable, and comfortable working in changing temperature conditions throughout the week.

Key Responsibilities
Perform daily cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy across multiple warehouse zones.
Verify inventory quantities against system and physical records.
Compile and maintain records of inventory counts, stock levels, and inventory adjustments.
Investigate and research root causes of count discrepancies.
Complete empty slot location reports and identify misplaced inventory.
Communicate inventory variances and discrepancies to supervisors for resolution.
Perform inventory quality checks and support product recall processes as needed.
Work throughout dry, cooler, freezer, and sub-zero storage environments as assigned.
Follow established inventory control procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support warehouse inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Day-to-Day Activities
Review assigned account books and inventory count sheets.
Travel through warehouse aisles and bin locations to physically count inventory.
Compare physical inventory quantities to documented quantities.
Record discrepancies and submit findings to supervisors.
Identify inventory stored in incorrect slot locations and assist with inventory relocation processes.
Progress from manual counting methods to use of a handheld counting gun after successful training and demonstrated proficiency, typically within the first few weeks of employment.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2+ years of cycle counting or inventory control experience required.
Experience working in warehouse, distribution, inventory, or logistics environments preferred.
Required Skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work independently while remaining a team player.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Flexibility to work in different warehouse areas and varying temperature conditions throughout the day.
Excellent listening skills to support effective two-way communication.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Candidates must be prepared to work in all warehouse temperature zones, including:

Dry Storage: Room temperature environment
Refrigerated storage zones
Freezer Areas: 32°F and below
Ice Cream Storage: Below-zero temperatures
Employees may work in different environments throughout the same week, depending on inventory count assignments.

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without assistance.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.
Ability to work in cold and sub-zero temperature environments while wearing required PPE.
