Weekly Pay! $24.00/Hour Shift Details : 3rd Shift Start Time : 11:30PM End Time : 7:30AM Working days : Monday - Friday JOB DESCRIPTION: Summary of Position: Operate TMW-3dk and TMW-4dk braiders and monitor for proper product quality. Essential Functions: Know how to operate NEB, OMA, TMW 24 or 36 braiders and train entry level braider operators as needed Pull tooling and materials according to manufacturing specifications for applicable machine(s), such as springs, braid rings, tube guides, wound bobbin, core tube, etc. Inspect tooling before using and track material used in WW3 system and Braider Logs Set up applicable machine(s) according to manufacturing specifications (braid ring height, install tube guide, change deck orpuller gear, unload or load carriers, unload or load bobbins, etc.) Identify correct mandrel size for the core tube to help guide thorugh machine, rotate mandrel till job finishes and strip when done, resize and rework as needed Mark defects and new preforms with the correct tape color Measure and record OD and pitch on Hose Process Chart (SPC) for all deck levels Perform inspection of carriers and know how to rebuild Perform pull test on all aerospace hose Replace oil barrels when needed Set completed hose to proper staging area Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5s practices Know and practice all safety regulations and quality guidelines Report production issues to Direct Lead Perform work of an equal or lower classification Department Specific or Non-Essential Functions: Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and or environmental risk. Report all safety and or environmental incidents to management immediately. Prevent excess waste of product and or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S. Other duties may be assigned at a later time. Education required: High School diploma or GED Experience: Production work preferred but not required Preferred Skills or Qualifications: Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills Basic knowledge and use of hand tools Sound decision making skills Good math, reading, writing skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Strong trouble shooting skills Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention Ability to work well in a team environment Skills or Competencies: Basic computer skills Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action. Vision: Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks. Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail. Must be able to demonstrate ability to operate department equipment (i.e. NEB braiders, TMW and OMA braiders, etc.) Must be able to read work orders and interpret manufacturing specifications. Ability to use and interpret measuring instruments (i.e. calipers, micrometers, pi tape, etc.) Organizational relationships or scope: Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment Working Conditions: The employee may be subject to: High noise levels from operating machines and equipment. Physical hazards from operating machines Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection) Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
