We are seeking a Hose Coiling & Pressure Test Operator to support manufacturing operations by coiling, inspecting, pressure testing, and preparing hose products according to established manufacturing and quality specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires the ability to monitor product quality, operate pressure-testing equipment, identify defects, accurately document inspection results, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Essential Functions- Hose Coiling & Inspection Review hose conformance while coiling product onto reels and cut hose as required. Verify part numbers, hose sizes, and job numbers against manufacturing specifications. Inspect dimensions, tag colors, and take-up reel diameters. Inspect hose for defects and quality issues, including: Bony hose Broken or missing wires Kinked hose Other product flaws or nonconformances Properly identify, tape, and remove nonconforming sections of hose. Place hose scrap in designated containers. Record product defects and scrap on Hose Coiling Inspection Sheets and update WW3 as required. Measure hose outside diameter (OD), inside diameter (ID), and pitch. Prepare and apply accurate product labels. Cut burst and periodic samples as required. Clean plug gauges and other equipment as needed. Pressure Testing Operate pressure-testing equipment in accordance with manufacturing specifications. Set up equipment for proof and/or impact testing, including: Jaws Mandrels Prefill Cycle time Dump pressure/purge Record PSI impact information on the back of the product tag. Cut hose ends and properly wrap them with tape following testing. Move tested hose to the designated quality inspection area. General Manufacturing Responsibilities Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following 5S practices. Follow all applicable safety regulations, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures. Immediately report production, equipment, safety, or quality issues to the Direct Lead. Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to resolve production issues. Perform other work within the same or lower job classification as assigned. Safety & Environmental Responsibilities Work safely and in accordance with company regulations, standards, and procedures. Identify and report unsafe conditions, practices, unlawful activities, and situations that may present health or environmental risks. Immediately report all safety and environmental incidents to management. Operate equipment efficiently to minimize product and component waste. Participate in team-based initiatives and continuous improvement programs, including Lean Manufacturing and 5S. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required. Experience Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided for approximately 1?8 weeks, with training potentially extended up to 10 weeks based on individual needs and proficiency. Basic computer skills. Strong attention to detail and product quality. Ability to maintain continuous mental, visual, and auditory attention. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality. Physical Requirements This position is physically active and requires employees to regularly perform tasks including: Standing and walking for extended periods. Bending, twisting, and turning. Reaching below the knee. Pushing and pulling. Squatting and kneeling. Reaching and lifting above shoulder level. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Repetitive movement and manual handling of hose and reels. Maintaining a high degree of manual dexterity while working with equipment and materials. Maintaining near visual acuity and accommodation to read labels, measurements, specifications, and other job-related information. Working Conditions Employees may be exposed to: High noise levels from operating machinery and equipment. Moving machinery, reels, and other manufacturing equipment. Physical hazards associated with manufacturing operations. Extended periods of standing and walking. Repetitive bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, squatting, and lifting. Conditions requiring a high degree of manual dexterity. Overtime and flexible scheduling, including the possibility of short-notice overtime.
